- Aaron Coates, CFP® CIMA, Financial Advisor, Valeo Financial Advisors, LLC Aaron has been featured in publications including the Journal of Financial Planning, Financial Planning, Investment Advisor, Money Magazine, and thestreet.com. He is co-author of Tools and Techniques of Retirement Income Planning, NUCO, 2008, and has presented at numerous professional conferences. Active in the FPA, in 2004, he founded FPA NexGen, an influential community of young financial planners, and chaired the inaugural conference in 2006. In 2007, Aaron was recognized as one of the five most influential practitioners in the country ("Movers and Shakers" Financial Planning, January 2007). In 2008 Aaron established the first fee-only comprehensive financial planning firm in Michiana, which he then merged into Valeo in 2009. For the prior ten years, Aaron served as Chief Investment Officer, CCO, and partner of Compass Wealth Advisors LLC in Elkhart, where over 90 percent of his clients were retired clients requiring income. Aaron resides in Goshen with his wife Kim and four children. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoys church, golf, reading, and swimming.
